Before Sumari, Aaron Farmer built his career on stages, not in studios. As a multi-instrumentalist, keyboardist, guitarist, and Music Director, he led live shows for artists including Tyler Hubbard and Florida Georgia Line — arranging songs, cueing bands, and making real-time calls in front of audiences who only cared about what they were feeling in that moment.
That instinct never left. Touring taught Aaron that music only works when it serves what's happening on stage, not the other way around — and that discipline is exactly what he brings to picture now. Every score Sumari writes starts with the story, not the arrangement: what does this moment need, and how does the music get out of its way to let it land? It's a film-first approach built on years of learning to read a room live, with no do-overs.
Aaron founded Sumari during the 2020 pandemic, when touring stopped and he had to figure out what came next. He named it after his childhood nickname — Sumari, Afrikaans for “Smiley” — and built a production house around original scores, composition, and sound design for advertising, film, and television. The stages changed, but the instinct didn't: it's still Aaron in the room on every project, bringing the same story-first ear he built out on the road.
WHY SUMARI

PRODUCED AND WRITTEN BY
Before Sumari, before scoring a single frame of picture, Aaron Farmer was writing and producing records — pop, hip-hop, and film score work that has earned more than 76.6 million global streams.

@afarm22 →THE SHORT VERSION
For years, Aaron Farmer’s stage was the stage — literally. As a multi-instrumentalist and Music Director, he led live shows for major touring acts including Tyler Hubbard, Florida Georgia Line, Nate Ruess, Backstreet Boys, and EAJ, calling arrangements, cueing the band, and reading a room of thousands in real time, with zero do-overs.
That instinct followed him into the studio. Writing and producing records asks the same question a live show does — what does this moment need? — just with more time to get the answer right. Aaron brings the same story-first ear from the stage to every session, building tracks that move people the way a great live show does: every part working in service of the whole.
That ear is on record. Aaron’s writing and production work has earned more than 76.6 million global streams (Songstats), spanning pop, hip-hop, and film score. In 2020, he channeled that same instinct into Sumari, a production house for original scores, sound design, and composition — but the tracks below are where it started: written and produced, stage instinct fully intact.
